Effectively View - Navigable Structures

چکیده

Certain fundamental properties are necessary for informations structure to be effectively view-navigable as they get larger. View-navigation here means the familiar method of moving from one locally visible part of the information structure to another until a target is found. Fundamental properties needed include: views of the structure must be small, connecting paths must not be too long, and the paths to targets must be discoverable by a Navigator. This paper explores concepts useful in understanding these constraints, including that of the viewing graph of a structure, as well as to-sets and residue. I. INTRODUCTION The World Wide Web (WWW) is the most recent popular example of a vast online information world. All who have use it are impressed by the range and richness of the content accessible simply by view navigation , i.e., wandering around and clicking on things they see on the screen. Soon after users are also typically struck by how hard it is to find anything specific by such navigation. In these initial stages of the evolution of the WWW, its structure has not been supportive of any form of targeted navigational search.

A Semantic-driven Clinical Examination Platform

Musculoskeletal disorders are widely spread throughout the world-wide population inducing patients’ pain and limitation of movement. Nowadays, the large amount of multimodal data, available from acquisition and modeling, is difficult to exploit effectively. Therefore, to help and guide orthopedists during clinical examination, we designed a medical-based ontology of the musculoskeletal system. ...

View dependence in scene recognition after active learning.

Human spatial encoding of three-dimensional navigable space was studied, using a virtual environment simulation. This allowed subjects to become familiar with a realistic scene by making simulated rotational and translational movements during training. Subsequent tests determined whether subjects could generalize their recognition ability by identifying novel-perspective views and topographic f...

Navigable history: a reader's view of writer's time

Collecting, analyzing, and sharing information via a hypertext results in the continuous modification of information content over a long period of time. Such tasks will benefit from users having access to this authoring process. The Visual Knowledge Builder (VKB), a spatial hypertext system designed to support collaborative knowledge building, includes navigable history to provide readers a vie...

Modeling and Implementation of Navigable Geographic Framework Data —— Construction of Road Network Based on Fundamental Geographic Data

Navigable geographic framework data functions as the geo-spatial referencing framework that integrates traffic maneuver and POI(s). The main difference between the navigable geographic framework and the traditional fundamental geographic data is that the former emphasizes the connectivity of the road network. It should describe the logical traffic flow carried by each road element, especially a...

Optimizing View Queries in ROLEX to Support Navigable Result Trees

An increasing number of applications use XML data published from relational databases. For speed and convenience, such applications routinely cache this XML data locally and access it through standard navigational interfaces such as DOM, sacrificing the consistency and integrity guarantees provided by a DBMS for speed. The ROLEX system is being built to extend the capabilities of relational dat...
